The Marin Housing Authority is seeking a collaborative and experienced

leader to become the next Executive Director. The Director reports to a

Board of seven Commissioners comprised of the five elected members of

the County Board of Supervisors and two public housing tenants. Housing

Authority resources include a staff of 54 and a $36 million operating

and capital budget. The Housing Authority owns and manages 600 units of

public and locally-developed housing and administers 2,150 units of

Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.  Established in 1942, the Authority has

jurisdiction in all unincorporated areas of the County and in ten local

towns/cities.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and effective manager who can

forge strong relationships and be receptive to concerns and needs of

staff, community partners, and residents. Ideal candidates will bring a

creative approach to a housing authority unique in its culture, have a

passion for public housing, and provide direction and vision for the

authority’s staff. Five years increasingly responsible management

experience in public housing or related field and a Bachelor’s degree

required; strong background in financial and capital planning with an

emphasis in real estate and an understanding of public process desirable.
